All business strikes. The Elizabeth coins look to be mint state, but all coins appear to have been dipped extensively... a neat presentation set, but really not worth much more than bullion value. The 1958 would be the one I would examine the closest for grade - it has elements of a weaker strike, but looks like it could be a decent coin.

Good short type set, all in good silver. If you collect other large silver dollars to go with these, there exists a strong temptation to break the set, to include them in your larger collection.
The latest date for my Canadian collection is 1967. At least my very old edition of Charlton is still able to help me.

The colour of the coins, they look dead and lacking lustre, especially the earlier dates, which are not uncirculated grades. They all look the same colour, despite age and being in a cardboard holders inside a PVC plastic pouch...

thanks all for replying I had bought another small collection/set not full of some other silver dollars the attached was included and I don't wish posting on the other forum because I don't know if it might be fake or not the set ended with 1957. however the thing is I think I've seen this coin or one similar a long time ago, if appears legit too your better trained eye than mine i`ll post on the error forum as I would like learning as much as possible about it thanks for looking Dermot P.s hope the photos are of good enough quality

If it is from an old style Whitman-style folder, from the 2012 May Coin Expo Bell auction (looks exactly like it, has the same mark at 7 o'clock on the reverse - and I had it in hand) - then it is legit... just with corroded or unusual surfaces... http://www.icollector.com/Lot-of-32...rs_i12524782

I don't collect silver dollars- but I was at the auction, and I viewed all the Canadian lots... I just remember seeing the nice grade of that 1945 dollar, but the cruddy surface. I remember it, because it reminded me of Homer Simpson... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gIhaXYAOAQPretty much any auction I go to - I view the bulk Canadian lots... kind of like the thrill of the hunt if I see something I like. I have a pretty good sense of observation and memory - sort of comes with the career....
