RCM has been doing something even more "incredible". Selling individual coins that belong to a subscription is nothing compared to selling the same coins (from the same mintage) in different subscriptions like O Canada.
@ northern I agree with your posts! It would be cool to have an extra coin, only available to those who completed purchase of the entire sub!! It could even be a special COA minted in silver for the set. This could help keep the value stable for completed subs. I also have 3 sub coins and the case. I cancelled the sub, when I saw prices start to plummet on the coins. I will watch for the last two coins at under issue prices. It's a very unique and striking set. It would have been better to limit the Mintage to 6,000-7,000 coins.
I keep telling my rep I don't want the last coin. However, she insists on reserving it for me. I don't have the courage to say I will find it on the secondary market for up to 40% off if I'm patient. The box to me isn't a true bonus; since only the 1st coin came in its clamshell. Now had each coin arrived in its own clamshell; then marketing could rightly claim the case as being a bonus. I feel by not giving the clamshells; any subscription cases are not bonuses - it's more like instead of the regular clamshell you'll be getting a wooden case. This would be a truer statement and not so misleading.
Well, I see that Lake Huron Coin is finally being release. Frustratingly, as I live beside Lake Huron, I would have elected to receive only this coin... but they released it last.
I will be glad to see the final installment in this series. I lived on the shore of Lake Superior.
Pocketchange 50 hasn't put up a post in a while and I believe she said that her hip surgery was in Jan. If you are reading PC50, we hope you are OK and have a speedy recovery. CCFers.
How could you even look in the box ... the empty slots? Go for it Northern, must be some out there at good prices, after all the chatter earlier. It is truly a nice set!

Agree!
Amazing set, SilverDon. Also have mine complete. Nothing wrong was to buy it for issue, but when you have a box, Northerncoins, and some of the coins - get it complete by hunting the rest for attractive prices. Btw: what could be "more Canada" than this? Water - is life.
One of the very few NCLT sets I have bought, and liked....

Great set indeed...I anxiously await for Huron to arrive... Just to expand from silveroid - its Canadian but truly north American - these huge lakes, the size and depth of seas...all interconnected have tremendous historical and present day relevance to both nations, economically, sustainability, weather influencing, drinking water, sportfishing, cottage life, endless examples of how much these giants impact on not just those big and small towns hugging their shores...but we'll beyond. Hand finished water blue enamels makes the designs of this set very original.
yea, what happened to PocketChange50? PC50 was here and then poof, but you might be on to something about her surgery I do recall her saying something about that... hopefully it all went well
The other thing: I want the Lake Michigan coin but I just cant come to terms with paying full price, especially after two recent auctions on slabbed coins mind u, went around 63ish -68ish with shipping, USD, just ehhh I cant pay full price, I have to wait.
other than that.. this set looks great, the blue enamel is great, just not worth full price..
... and these coins pay great homage to these impressive lakes. I have seen Superior up in the UP of Michigan, and then Lake Michigan, which I see regularly and have enjoyed many times running the lake front training for the Chicago Marathon. Both of those two I can attest to being impressive and I agree with the sentiment expressed by Electrum...
**You might prefer the latest hit from the Perth Mint: the "Star Trek" 2 coin set with plastic (magic) cylinder Toys-R Us style, but for these, even at price of CAD 270, "The Coin Shoppe" sold out.
