They have beautiful details and portraits as they are cleaned by the British museum and Gallics always turn out well. Some people think the rough flans are damaged, but thats just the way they were struck. Gallics are my favourite Roman coin as they have very Romantic looking bearded portraits and a certain rustic appearance which I love to bits. I sold a few Marius from this lot years ago....

Just realised - this means I can put a name to the hoard mine are from! Excellent.

Yep....although none sold to date will have been allocated to the hoard which has been sold at collectors fairs etc. what a loss, shame. also, the guy who found them, Jay, has not been giving this provanance and has missed out in my opinion. I checked out the BM report as well. sadly, not a lot left and certainly nothing of any quality IMO.......not after I had 530 anyway!!

Id keep them entirely seperate! And it does seem weird that he didnt give the provenance. I asked him about it and he was a bit of an arse about it. Heres my Mossy Bottom Barn Hoard coins. 1 Quintillus, 3 Gallienus', 2 Claudius IIs. One is a mint error: Better do a write up.

Eng5858, I haven't sat down with these properly yet to have a good look, just posted quick group photo. I am not the best to ask for prices as I generally let them run at auction where their true value is realised, ie. what people want to pay for them. As this is not allowed on CCF, ie. I have to name a price and I cannot accept offers, I will decline at this stage as I want to stay on the Forum , When I am permitted to sell, I will get back to you if I can decide what I want for the coin.

I have a while to go then......84 days and counting. Its not really about making the MOST money I can out of a coin, just about making the RIGHT amount. Auctions involve fees and they aren't always the best way to go...I'll get back to you.
