Its worth only what someone is willing to pay for it.

Its real, its not worth 25 euros. You can find them for sale for cheaper occasionally - I saw one of this type (full circle) for £10 with postage once. The issues is that they dont come up for sale so often.

I don't know them well enough to judge the price, but I did buy one potin from a cgbfr.com auction for what seems to be a good price.

http://www.cgbfr.com/boutique,gauloises.html has over 4000 Celtic potins in their shop, look there for comps. And vcoins.

At a glance, the shop prices on cgbfr.com may be high (or not, hard to judge) but I got a much better deal through one of their regular auctions, so check those out too.

For instance, here are their current e-auction celtic coins. You can probably find a good deal there.

Wonderful! Glad you waited.

Today in the 51 Gallery auction there were 40 Celtic coins, some spectacular. Most sold for far more than estimate although some didn't sell.

One of these days I'm going to start learning more about them. That may be a dangerous day :D

Nice potin! I'd be happy with the purchase too. Anyone interested in these can find a little background at Ancient Imports - A Brief Introduction to Celtic Potins of Gaul.
