You get credit for second place on the Postumus. Last year I bought a lot from France. I got one good Double Sestertius and 4 out of 6 had BD. Very disappointing.

I may have to sell off something else to justify this one buy. Hmmmmmm

Thanks 'Dutch' ! Wish I had been more aggressive on the other lot too. I could have parted with the silver coins it had more easily.

I had just sent a tip to my friend about a nice AE this morning when I spied 2 lots for sale. This is the one I really liked although the other was definitely worth more. A mix of 15 Greeks Roman Imperials and some Rome Republicans just for good measure. In hindsight it was a steal which I should have been more aggressive persuing ! They sold for around $21 for each ...... a no brainer really.

Now I am seeing the Brundisium with BRVN on the reverse. My wifes name is Brunilda (yes really).
I am doomed to a life of poverty I am afraid.

I need Ben to figure out this Tetricus for me. The reverse is obviously CONSERVAT.

I think your Commodus is SERAPIDI CONSERV AVG but I can only find denarii of that type. Serapis standing with the modius on his head, his right hand extended, and a spear or wand in his left?

I never, ever, question the depth of knowledge possessed by Ancients' collectors.
I remain in absolute awe.
