I use ex British Royal Mint screw capsules of various sizes, instead of slabs. Sometimes, I can also get the matching jewelry case style of box the original coin came in! Problem with slabs for me is the fact the shape does not fit with my albums for coins. That problem is NOT insurmountable however. Album pages for standard size slabs are also available.

Quote: I use Avery Labels for labeling my slabs insert. Just a thought Are the labels acid free?

I've bought a few coins that were in aftermarket slabs and the coins were in various stages of toning. One Canadian Silver Maple was nearly as black as coal. Those aftermarket-slabbed coins were part of the "Silver Coins of the World" and other similar series, so they were slabbed shortly after issuance. Because of this, I'm not certain those slabs are satisfactorily resistant to atmospheric exposure and the sometimes unwanted effects of atmospheric impurities.
I keep the coins I care about in Air-Tite capsules.

Jeffrose.. from Avery's description:
'These white permanent ID Labels go the distance. They identify items and boxes in storage for a quick glance at contents. How do they endure so well? Stick-and-Stay and acid-free construction means these labels are in for the long haul.'

Great, thanks. So who makes the Premier slabs - are they Coin World branded and made by Guard House? I'm confused who actually manufactures these. I'd like to contact them.

I love you guys. Been way too busy lately to post on CC. New job, and opening my own coin shop. I've picked a large safety deposit box worth of rare varieties and high quality coins since I last posted.
Lots of pictures in a couple of months.

Talked to Amos - bummer they have discontinued the black and white inserts. I really don't dig that green...
Are there other PCGS sized holders?
PS - Thanks srs77!

Russ, not sure whether there are any others out there in the PCGS size. I have nothing but the green inserts. They discontinued the black a long while back. Sorry about that, should've told you that. Hopefully someone else might chime in with a solution. Good Luck!

Look at Lighthouse EVERSLABS. They are almost exactly the same as NGC, but their quality isn't as good. I started a topic somewhere on the forum about these too. I like them pretty well.

You're going to link your shop in a sig when you have an online presence, right?

Hey all! Not to beat a dead horse here, but I'm interested in hermetically sealing (air tight) some of my coins. Slabs from the TPGs are hermetically sealed.
My focus is on IHCs and FECs, and I just don't trust the TPGs whatsoever when it comes to grading Indians. I've even seen tooled IHCs in PCGS slabs, and grades off by as much as 15-20 points.
At this point, I have quite a collection of rare and high quality varieties that need to be properly stored. Right now, they are in Safe-Flips and I've sealed them with an impulse sealer. I'd rather slab them myself, to be honest. Has anyone tried this?
