They will probably sell a lot of them to Corvette collectors. Not something I would buy.

But Golly Gee, they will never be released for circulation! (Possibly because they are not legal tender?)Duh!

about as attractive as road kill in my humble opinon

You weren't listening. The add said they ARE legal tender and authorized by the Federal Government. This would indicate you could buy one and spend it as a dollar. Imagine going to Walmart and trying to pay for something with that.
Now I too wonder about the battery. If you were dumb enough to buy one and put it on a shelf for several years, would the battery be dead? Would it possibly leak all ovet the place? Would the dead battery ruin the coin not that there is anything to ruin? I wonder just how many will be sold. I know someone that owns a vet and everything he sees with a vet on it he buys so this will be great for him. Dumb.

I have a few corvettes and I think one would be hard pressed to find someone that was more of a corvette fan than I am but I just do not think I will be getting one of these coins

I have a vette too, but, er...no. This was posted on an corvette forum a few months ago, and almost everyone said they wouldn't be getting one. Bryan, what kinds do you have?

Yes it is legal tender

It's Republic of Palau legal tender and will never be released for circulation.

and look at the silver content

This newly-released 71 mg .925 pure silver clad commemorative dollar

this comes out to .071 grams of sterling silver which means if you had 450 of these so called coins you would have 1 ounce of sterling silver worth about $8.75 and it only cost you $11,655.00 with shipping.

Sounds like a super deal to me

yeh, I know how all you guys feel about this coin. I am just going to get one of them. Giving it to my uncle who has 6 vettes, 3 cobras, 2 lotuses, and a bunch of other cars. He actually can go a whole month w/o driving the same car twice. He's simply a car nut and has to have everything and anything that has to do with his favorite cars. I think he actually has OCD or something.

A C3 man! I have a '75 and just yesterday I took the engine to the machine shop. I'm going to be dropping an 383 in her. Actually, just a few minutes ago I just cut off one of the side pipes because it didn't want to come off. Now I have to buy a new set.
