Just got an email from seller. PO returned package a second time. I'm guessin' they don't like stamps on Priority boxes  This time he got a tracking #. We shall see  |

I got the same lame excuse the last, and I might add final time I plan to buy from one of our members. I have also heard: "I forgot to mail it, it will go out tomorrow." Received 3 1/2 weeks later, 3 days after it was postmarked. Or the one guy that would not answer emails or forum IM's and after a month sent the package out. There is also the not once, but twice, got sent the wrong item by the same seller which I had to mail back and never was refunded for all the extra postage. A few other BS episodes of not so stellar sellers that I will not bother to go into. I just stick with the bay and a nice little privet live auction site that is free for both buyers and sellers. In all my years on ebay I have had one minor incidence where the guy did not have what he was selling, but still got it to me in about 2 weeks along with a small cash discount in the envelope. |

Sorry to hear about this poor transaction. I have had nothing but positive transactions here at CCF and there have been dozens of them. The thing you did correctly was use Regular PayPal which protects you to the extent that the seller has to deliver or you get your money back.
Back to the original issue of stamps on Priority Mail. Stamps are perfectly acceptable on Priority Mail, but you lose tracking ability and can't deposit over 13 ounces in a stamped package in a drop box - it must be hand delivered to a postal employee or representative thereof. Plus, anyone selling online has to have access to a printer so they print labels (and save money) through PayPal or the USPS website.
So.....you definitely got the runaround and this seller needs to be "outed" so others of us do not fall victim. Please out the seller here or PM me with their username. Best of luck getting your package this week!

Interesting, when I put the tracking # in the USPS system, it came up NOT FOUND. Normally it might show ACCEPTED with no other information on day one. I think I will wait until tomorrow, and try the tracking number one more time, and if it doesn't show I'm not messing around any more. Will cancel deal and immediately open cases with paypal and Capital One. I have all the details documented. Not sure what he is trying to do, but it's sophomoric at best, and criminal at worst. I'll PM you with his username, and out him if I have to open cases. Thanks. Ed.

I got the message Ed, thank you. NOT FOUND will sometimes display in USPS tracking similar to, "Electronic Shipping Information Received". Until a USPS employee scans the label and then you get ACCEPTED or Acceptance. Sellers should be vigilant on having their insured shipments scanned for acceptance else they may be out of luck if the package comes up missing. Without an "Acceptance" scan your insurance is not activated. I never drop high value, insured shipments in drop boxes but rather have a USPS employee scan them. It adds peace of mind for me as the seller and should for the buyer too, if they check online tracking.

Yeah, I learned that lesson. Nothing over $10 in value will go into a drop box from me.....everything else gets hand scanned. Plus, I like the receipt in my hand that it was scanned. Tomorrow should be interesting. What makes me suspicious is that after all this you'd think that he'd make sure it was scanned in. Even If I get the package, that's only the first hurdle. I have to make sure all 9 slabbed coins are the correct date and grade. Will definitely have to rethink paypal transactions in the future.

Baseball, you're right. I was talking about possibly in the future only using ebay, and of course paypal too, but not just paypal alone. I should have explained better. Ed |

Yea I mean it is what it is, theres just bad apples out there. Its not that hard to get to the post office and mail something. Unless you get put in the hospital someone really shouldnt be selling if they cant be bothered to ship something out in a timely fashion. Id bet youd have better luck with the people who regularly sell on ebay since they make frequent trips to the PO anyway |

Well, something is actually on it's way. I'll be shocked if all the coins are correct. Almost looking for a reason to send them back. Feel like I need a shower.

Coins finally arrived 3 weeks to the day from payment. They are the correct ones too. What a relief. Thanks for the support. Awesome forum.

I thought they stopped delivering via horses, maybe Paul Revere brought it down by horseback.. You must be relieved that's had to be stressful.

I once had the post office lose a coin offered a refund r wait until I can get another in, The buyer happily waited for me to order another from the Perth Mint and send it out to him. Things happen. Of curse there were updates every few days. Communication makes things work. And the second coin went out UPS. |
