I'd go for Indian Head cents - we had half and large cents not so long ago.

I guess I COULD research the archives and see which thread we haven't done the longest....

It just seems like so much work...

Of the choices mentioned, I would choose Indian Head cents.

Other ideas: Half-dimes, Shield nickels, Classic commemoratives.

I would like to see a category called 'Proofs and Patterns' I have not seen this topic before, but it could bring out some really interesting coins.

In my review of the previous Days Of threads, this has not been done

I suspect that we would have to separate the early years into decades, and end the thread with the 1942 Proofs.

Something like this:
Day 1 - 1793-1849
Day 2 - 1850-1859
Day 3 - 1860-1869
Day 4 - 1870-1879
Day 5 - 1880-1889
Day 6 - 1890-1899
Day 7 - 1900-1909
Day 8 - 1910-1935
Day 9 - 1936
Day 10 - 1937
Day 11 - 1938
Day 12 - 1939
Day 13 - 1940
Day 14 - 1941
Day 15 - 1942

IHC sounds like the popular vote. I'm in for three varieties.

...or we could have an "old copper" thread. Half Cents, Large Cents, Flying Eagles, Indians and Two Cent Pieces.

...or "Nickel Coinage" Three Cent and Five Cent Pieces

...or "Other" denominations; Half Cents, Two, Three and Twenty Cent Pieces.

I don't believe that I have seen "Classic Commemoratives" yet.

Just some suggestions to mix-up a few types.

I agree with oih82w8. It would be cool to see the different types of each year together. And maybe dedicate the first few days to colonials. Just an idea.

EXCELLENT idea! We'll do that!

This area of the CCF postings is for the US Classic Coins. There is a separate section for US Commemorative coins.

I think Commems should host a Classic Commemorative "Days of ..." thread on the Commemorative section of the CCF!!

Man, I would LOVE to see an entire thread dedicated to "Proofs & Patterns"!!

My problem with it is there are just not that many of those coins around. I have a pretty strong feeling there would be not a lot of participation and we wouldn't see a bunch of coins.
