Quote:Well the latest offering from RCM (November 2014 release) has another 1/2 kilo coin - 'Canadian Horses' 2015. I told myself that if this is an annual issue (1 per year) I would continue ... by releasing another so early (pre-2015) I'm now concerned they have intentions of doing more than 1 per year... in which case, I'm out. Waiting for a reply from my rep. If I had a budget to get these coins, I would skip the new one "Canadian Horse". Might be for horses lover, but the coin has nothing special, unlike the "Wolf" has. No such nice detalization, and we've seen so many horses in 2014, to this one just big coin with the horse. Well, that's my opinion, but I do not see reason to spend a money on this.

Hi, could not find this in the search engine. Coins are over priced somewhat but only 1000 mintage and so nice to look at. I have to get rid of a great deal of my collection to get this series. These "coins" have such a large canvas, great details hope the next ones match the details and quality. I ordered the Cougar as well and I hear the 3rd coin will be a Grizzly Bear. The mint says the Cougar should be shipped any day. The horses are supposedly another 3 coin series as well.

Don't be surprised, Yup
For re-sale purposes, none of the coins holds the value for the long term. And again, yes, the seller will try to ask "market value", but if he really wants to sell the coin, the price will be way less.

Quote:I just cant buy these RCM coins anymore from the mint or dealers because I keep finding them for way less. look at this auction,, man the price really tanked... http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Canada...em20f2d6b4af Modern Coin Mart again, they are notorious for these poor performing auctions, its like they need to unload stock even if its loses money, but they are still in business so I guess its working "So Far" Although they are a high volume seller on ebay , I guess not every auction is a "Win" profit wise.

I received the 1/2 Kilo Howling Wolf I won from the TCNC a couple of weeks ago. The winning bid was $500 and with the buyers fees and shipping and GST came to $618. The issue price was $1099. The coin is in perfect condition with no scratches. The box and sleeve look pristine.

Congrats on your purchase, but shows the sad state of just too many RCM releases, most of the sales were at 40 to 60% of issues.

Stunning coin, a coup for sure. I'd love a 2 Oz version, it's art at it's finest. This is the quality the mint should strive for, by reducing offerings. It was exciting for a year. Then my wallet started protesting when I was doing monthly orders. I'm saving up for 2017, hopefully some stunning coins are in the works. It's a disincentive to buy, when I'm seeing coins in my collection going for 40-50% off in ebay auction. The message I get is wait and save money. Like this low Mintage beauty was almost a 50% savings, and still an outstanding coin!! John you're so correct. It will be interesting to watch the next three years unfold.

Amazing coin, Money Penney Congrats for the winning an auction.
This is one of the coins, that due to it's design, wish I would have spare $1K to "throw" - I would buy it without thinking for future resell value.
