i wonder if the price of this coin drops further due to the fact that-
1- this is the second coin in the series
2- this is not the Donald Duck that most people are familiar with.
3- Donald is not as popular as Mickey

@yup7676 I don't think the price is going to drop... honestly, yes it is the second of the serie, but from what I got, it is also the last. the other disney coins look like they are going to be a totally different serie... guess we'll see as they announce the future release.
It is not the donald duck that most people are familiar with, this is true, but isn't that the whole point of VINTAGE? if you want to look at it this way, mickey hasn't changed that much, but he is also a vintage one too.
It is true that donald is not quike as popular as mickey, but it definitely is popular... I think overall, the coin looks really good (can't wait to have my copy in hand) and honestly, 1000 is a rather small mintage. so I truely think that the gold coin will continue to gain in value. as for silver, I think it will probably hold its value... but only time will tell!

Hey Dominic!
Well yea, I think, as many coins, they are catered towards very niche groups and I think that if they didnt do the Donald vintage a lot of folks and fans would be put off. So its good did the vintage, so I guess I was thinking of the general public.
I want a gold coin but I am going to hold off, tho I want a silver for sure as I have always liked Donald over Mickey lol

I received my Donald today and it's a beauty like in the above post. I have the Steamboat willie too. Both are impressive and are a big hit to all I share them with.
I wonder what the 3rd coin in the series is going to me? Goofy maybe? Who is the next oldest Disney character?

and to add on, I'm not sure but I've heard/read that they would only be silver, no gold on the next six... guess we have to wait and see!

yep, I think so... the coin shoppe just slashed their prices for the 6 packs... I was on the fence to get them, but I have to say, below issue, might as well! :-) let's see how they turn out!

@Dominic yea I been watching too,,, some dealers I saw had it below the Mint's issue and then started to see it lower from there on ebay and I suppose with lower spot prices this one even goes lower.... I am just tired of paying up even for stuff I want and I just been noticing the pattern in these coins. Thats not to say they all do that... which I think, for a collector, dropping prices are a GREAT thing! :D
