Help Identifying Ancient Roman Coin

This is literally worthless, so yeah, dont get it. I sometimes put coins from this period on ebay, but I havent recently because they dont sell well (I may be putting some more up later, but most of them, at the moment, are early empire. I believe I have a couple from this period though, but overpriced).

This coin is Constantius II with the scarcer (but still easily found) reverse of SPES REIPVBLICAE (Hope of the Republic) - it shows Constantius II standing left with a spear, holding a globe.

Well I technically wouldn't be paying any money for it. It's on Listia, which is done through credits. You "sell" stuff for credits, then use those credits to get something else. But, I won't go for it since all of you guys say it is in poor condition. I have been collecting coins for a while but, mainly only from 1890-current. So, venturing into the ancient coins is new for me and, I am uneducated about what is what. I am am mainly going into ancient coins for the history aspect like, Spanish coins from 1500-1519 (during the conquest of the Aztec Empire), that kind of stuff.

Significant times for the romans being the early empire, Constantine I and the very late empire (400-500AD). Constantine I's coinage is plentiful and cheap and you can get coins from interesting romans (usurpers etc) for low prices, if you're patient and wait for the interesting stuff..

Here is a Marc Anthony from my collection. Not a very good example, better ones are out there but will be expensive.

You can have a look on vcoins and search for coins there. They cover a lot of retailers from all over the world. You can see what coins they have and what they are asking. These are retail prices, and some stores have overheads to pay for. If you have a local coin dealer, he may have ancients tucked away. It might be worth talking to them.

On ebay you will find many examples, but they come without provenance for the most part. There are a lot of fakes on ebay, and it would be worth posting a photo of the coin here for forum members to give their opinion as to whether the coin is worth bidding on.

Actually there are a few. Go to vcoins and search for marc antony legion. A number of them will come up, including coins that are not legionary.
I warn you now, some of those prices are alarming. It is, however, educational to go through and look at the condition of the coins for the price being asked. You will also often find someone else selling a better coin for a lower price.
