Yes they are. I got my first one back in 1990. I am up to 237 and I keep an ever watchful eye out for more.

What a brilliant frosty specimen to get you started! I began with 10 worn-slick Morgans with gunk packed around every remaining detail. It was years before I was able to trade up to examples like yours!

Yes, that is a FINE Morgan, and I'm not talking about grade either. The 1880 and 1881 dates are my favorite. I would have snatched that one up too.

I collect them from 1878-1904. I love them worn, and in the classic antique silver patina. Have all date/MM except 1893-S. They can be addicting. Not fond of the 1921, though. The 1878-1904's are the real Morgans to me.

Looks like you have a nice start, btw.

How about sharing a photo of the reverse side?

That is a nice coin.

My first Morgan looked nothing like that.

At work now but will post a reverse pic when I get home. I know pic isn't good but being new and not about to try and grade things myself anyone have an idea of a grade to throw out there for the obverse?

That's a great looking Morgan, nice and frosty. The thing I remember back when I got my first Morgan dollar was how heavy they are. Nice and sturdy. I thought to myself "Now that's a coin". You should post it over in this thread now. https://goccf.com/t/184585

Congrats!
