MS-65 cameo, I don't have the know how to distinguish a SP and an MS. If it is not an MS-65 cameo, then a SP-64.

Looks too well struck to be a business strike. I'm going to say SP65C.

wireman09....I believe there are no 1949 'PL' coins graded by ICCS.

SP 64. I think the fields aren't uniform enough for a 65 (from this picture anyways).

64. What's the difference between SP and PF, once again?

That's a very strong strike, but I don't have the expertise to distinguish SP vs MS, so I'll say MS 64

@doubleagle...I did not know that ICCS do not attribute the PL issues of the 1949 silver dollar. I do know that PCGS and NGC do attribute the 1949 PL issues. My understanding of 1949 silver dollars is they came in SP,PL, and business strikes. The SP were individually issued and the PL and business strikes were issued in rolls. The SP dollars sell for about 5 - 10 times the cost of a nice PL dollar as they are quite rare. The dollar pictured has "chatter marks" on the cheek that are typical to the PL issues. Any 1949 SP dollars I have seen are mirror finish and do not have such chatter marks. My guess is that if ICCS do not attribute the PL issues then they are attributing them as MS issues. Then if they don't attribute PL then I will change my grade to MS66C. Thanks for letting me know this as this CCF is great for learning and information.

wireman09....
When ICCS started, they did grade some 1949's as 'PL'.
They have currently acknowledged this is an error on their part.
I have an old cert 1949 25 cent PL-65 and a $1 1949 ICCS PL-65, but these are not true 'PL' coins.
If ICCS graded them today they would either be MS or SP and I believe my two are MS.

Drumroll... I thought this coin could be a specimen but I've never seen one in hand. Also my photos tend to show every little mark on the coin and the holder. The coin looks better in hand. Thanks for the input!
