I like the coin and have met the designer personally. She also designed the 5oz swimming beaver and numerous other wildlife coins.
Looking forward to ordering at least one of these!

i like the series and this coin, and I was going to get the subscription until I saw that it included the 2014 owl that I already have. I'm not looking for more, I just want to continue the set. Why the mint decided to force subscribers for 2015 to have to get a 2014 coin as well is puzzling.

That's because they want to get rid of the 'snowy owl'. The design wasn't very good and I assume it's not selling very well.

Hi folks! I just have to share with you the design the mint has just approved for the next Beaver coin: I wish the mint would just leave it to...

5th or 6th in 2 year timespan? One cannot have too much beaver
"That kid" is Jerry Mathers aka "The Beave" on "Leave it to Beaver" television program that still generates revenue to this day.

That's a pretty neat coin in hand. I like the depiction of the waterline. It is very lifelike.

Hi I'm back, I decided a break from coins for a couple months was in order. Today is my first day back into the hobby. I found last yr I was spending way too much, buying from 5 different sources. So this years resolution is to keep to $1,000, unless I free up extra cash from selling older pieces. I took a complete break from Dec 10 no ebay even. So I have a bunch of major house repairs to budget for, and my hip surgery is supposed to be May now hoped to be finished it by now. I have a lot of coin news to catch up on. My rep has sent me out the beaver, horse, and color flag coins. I just opened the packages today, they arrived earlier in the week. I must say the beaver is by far the best of the 3 coins. The beaver coin has a nice variety of finishes, beautiful depiction of motion, especially like the water droplets and bubbles beneath the surface. The wolf on the bank is a nice addition. Contrast with the $100 horse, the scene seems very barren, its devoid of action or story. Its also lacking the inclusion of varying finishes. Its a let down from the eagle and big horn sheep coins. I doubt I would of ordered it, without my rep interceding on my behalf. I will keep it to keep my collection whole. The $25 flag, I really like the engraving on the coin, its the best part along with keeping the written details discreet on a small coin. In comparison the earlier coins the denomination took up too much space. This coin has a nice larger design accompanied by smaller engraved details. I do find the use of shading very distracting. It takes away from an excellent design, in my opinion. I apologise for my wonkily formatted response, I'mposting from my new laptop. I usually post from my ph, its very different, a bit of getting used to.

@pocket change. Nice to see you're back. Missed reading your posts. You're not the only one taking a break. There's been a few posts of coin fatigue. Myself included. Hard to get excited with the product the RCM is presently releasing.
