Excellent examples so far ... Thanks for sharing. I admit to feeling guilty for having entombed the USO dollar in a 2x2 ... somebody cared enough for the coin to carry it daily for a while ... and now I have interrupted that journey with cardboard and plastic ... stored away in a 3-ring binder. My karma would benefit from finding a new home for the coin - a home where it can join into the daily pocket of a new owner and continue it's journey towards truly treasured condition. Wondering if anyone out there is willing to be the new loving host for this USO dollar and carry it daily in their pocket? Perhaps I'll spin up an essay contest in the "Contest/Giveaway" section ... and give the USO dollar a chance for release from the 2x2 tomb. David

Why don't you just put it in YOUR pocket?

Quote:Personally, I think that the reverse of this coin is one of the best in ALL of US coinage. Awesome! Definitely among the best.

I've been wondering how that Ellis Island dollar was doing.

Quote: I've been wondering how that Ellis Island dollar was doing. I came across this one a little while ago on ebay. Not sure if the seller was the one who beat it up or if they are just the middleman and or bullion dealer. http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Coin-198...p=true&rt=nc

Quote: This Abe Lincoln is very cool I like it. More like a medal than a coin.

The Capitol one has only been harshly cleaned, not circulated. The Lincoln looks suspect. Almost counterfeit. Unless someone "antiqued" it like they do to silver rounds. My Ellis Island after 1 1/2 years

The Lincoln is fake... Don't buy it, buy a new one in ogp and carry it in your pocket instead
