If its an S it's a key date. But it looks like a D to me.

I saw an 'S' both on the original picture and in the enlargement.
Just an opinion.
And I tend to be conservative.

So we have people who see D, people who see S, and people who see no mintmark! Looks like I found a real winner with this one! I don't think I've ever had a coin torture me like this one. I've held it at every angle under every possible source of light and I just can't figure it out.

I guess it can't hurt to give it a last ditch vinegar/hydrogen peroxide bath overnight and see if anything better comes out.

After soaking it in vinegar again and checking it this morning, it looks like a D. I'll try to get some more pictures tonight and post them.

New pictures! Took these after another night-long soak in acid. To me, it definitely looks like a D now. What say you?

Looks like a D to me also. Hey, you might as well keep going for a full horn.

Hah, I noticed the horn start to appear as well. Maybe I could even get the split tail!

Anyone else have any thoughts on the new pics? I'd like to have some confirmation before I put it in my folder.

Did you look at the pictures I added or just the original post?

I added something to the title to help. If this were my coin, I'd label it a Denver issue.

It's no problem, man. We cater to newer collectors here, and run the place rather strictly as a result. When those rules occasionally interfere with legitimate needs - and they do sometimes - we have no problem with doing the extra Admin work ourselves to get you what you need.
