I agree that this is an interesting one. Based on the VAMworld photos, I don't think it's quite the 1F in EDS. For example, the die crack coming off the "F" to the wing is partially down the serif in the VAMworld coin. It is even with the top surface in Dave's coin. The "verticality" of the mint mark between the example and Dave's coin don't quite match as well. Dave's appears to have a bit of a tilt to the right whereas the VW coin is almost vertical. I'm going to have to vote for the VAM-27. There is barely enough detail in the VAMworld photos to suggest that the reverse die crack connecting "OF" and the wing matches. Are there any die cracks in "UNITED" Dave?  PG Edited by paleoguy45

I was a little worried about the crack propagation across the wing to begin with. Here we do again.  |

A stab in the dark Dave, but how about checking - Quote:
Die marker - Near vertical polishing line at lower right of right cotton boll. No photos provided on VAMworld but that is a PUP for the VAM-40. Everything thing else in the narrative seems to match.. PG |

Because Russ has so many Morgans stashed/flowing through that he resembles a one-armed paper hanger SsDd. He said it was a matter of having the time to find it among the masses. Tough problem to have eh?  |

I've shared airspace with Russ. He's as busy as a one-armed paperhanger when he's standing perfectly still. You could power a whole neighborhood with his latent energy. |
