I am some what disappointed that this coin depicts flying bugs and not a super cool space craft.

It seems like RCM is doing more of these coloured coins. Much cheaper to apply paint than to have to make dies. This one looks like the only detail on the reverse is the engraved initials .

Thanks to vermontensium for redirecting traffic. IMO this is RCM stuff that's worth noticing in quite a while. I might just hit the buy button.

Quote: Much cheaper to apply paint than to have to make dies. This one looks like the only detail on the reverse is the engraved initials . after looking at the coin in your avatar, this one (the Glow in the dark) looks like just token / coin with the picture on it. And the picture also simple by its idea. Now, speaking about perspective and dimensions: The fireflies looks like mutant insect, they so big, that probably scared the people, that were in the boat. No way that we can see in such sharp focus close fly and far objects all together. But I hope, that real coin is better, than on the pictures. So it will spark interest of the collectors.

I think it would have been better if they had of put the queen sitting by the fire cooking a hot dog on a stick.

I personally think it is a very interesting and good looking coin. Art is a subjective matter of course. I personally don't care much about the complexity to get something done... as long as it is done right. This one definitely fits the bill. My point is that usually the paint job on the REAL coin is substantially more pixelated than the RCM artwork. Guess which one is the real coin below?

I received mine today. I quite like it. With the canoe in the picture, I think it'll go nice with my Canoe across Canada display. (actual picture of mine!)

Thanks Dcadon for the picture. I am still wondering if there is any engraving beneath the printed image? Can you see any?

There is a thin, clear lens on top of the coin that you can see if you look at it from it's side. I guess that's what gives the entire coin its glow rather than just certain areas on the coin separately. Something I've never seen before on a coin. There doesn't appear to be any engraving.

@Dcadon: Glad to read that you're pleased with coin! That's what matters most!
I hope someday to see one "live" so I can get a true sense of it.

This coin is extra special and I have never seen such a beautifully painted one. It truly looks like a piece of artwork. RCM lists it as now SOLD OUT. Very popular and a great addition to collection considering the custom packaging instead of being lost in a "sea of black sleeves"!
