Grade is FA-0 (Fake 0) -- a bad cast copy and they didn't even get the reverse remotely close to real.
I knew it as soon as I saw the mintmark but the rest of the coin is equally bogus.

The first thing that caught my eye was the sink on the obverse at TY in LIBERTY. That just didn't happen on real Morgans. Next the date was way off followed by the stars looking more like they came out of a box of lucky charms.
Hope you knew this was a counterfeit matttheriley..

I don't think this is genuine. E Pluribus Unum lacks sharpness and the bust lacks detail I would expect.

That acid dipped looking surface is the biggest giveaway. Then the secondary markers d700 pointed out. Like if you saw a home computer printed $100 bill using the wrong color green. Same thing

Ok, this is why I LOVE this forum! I did purchase this KNOWING it was a counterfeit. It weighs in at 25.6g. It is not magnetic, and it even passes the ring test. I wanted an example for my "black" cabinet to help me learn more about CC Morgans. I haven't purchased one, and I don't think I would unless it was from a VERY reputable dealer. I am glad I did, because I now know a lot more about what to look for in a real one, but I could see how even this one could fool a novice (read ME). Now, should I leave a negative feedback for the sleazy seller on ebay who is peddling these for $6? 111684244443Thanks for your input folks, I hope you don't mind me playing a little trick on you all? Matt

Not sure what you'd report. Seller is in China, and the price was in Euros so the coin wasn't even listed in the US.

I could at least drop a negative feedback on him though!

That ebay account looks like it's run by that site we aren't allowed to talk about. Like seriously, the horizontal watermark.

My first thought was counterfeit. Glad to see that I am right.

100% copy. You will get your money back with ebay buyer's protection. Open up a dispute "Item not as described". I've done it.

Wouldn't you think that would be dishonest? I paid $6 KNOWING it was fake.
