Pleasantly surprised!
The coin showed up today. Absolutely Beautiful!
Expensive but Beautiful!

Exactly the reaction I had. Great display piece, whether in a case or on a wall.
Glad I ordered one and surprised it sold out so quickly, not to mention the shipping speed.

Yeah, I guess we're just lucky here in B.C. I hardly ever buy from the P.O. because of the 7% tax in this province.

That's why I usually buy out of province, but occasionally will buy from the mint if no other dealer has the coin I want.

For example, I had to get the "My Matryoshka" doll coin from the mint (even with the 7% tax), not for my investment, but for investment in my Mom's happiness. She likes to collect these dolls, and will have a nice surprise for her birthday.

So, even if the price drops it's still worth it to me.

This one, although being commissioned with not limited mintage, far from traditional coin and disliked by many, have a chance to win COTY for innovation.
after all other stuff that flooded the market by other mints, this Maple Leaf "coin" at least simple and elegant. Except this, the commissioner Mint can "push" his friends in Europe to make a correct vote towards this coin.

Then it might be popular.

I finally saw this coin in person in my local post office. It certainly stands out.

What is the red maple leaf case made of? Is it plastic or cardboard?

For mint - maybe, anyway they moved significant amount to commissioner. Majority of the collectors here, will not chase it, only if the price on the secondary market will increase.

What do you mean they moved a significant amount to the commissioner?

This coin has been commissioned by one of the European mints-distributors (according to AgAuNews site).
So, like with all previously commissioned coins, that RCM has issued, significant portion of mintage went to the entity, who commissioned the coin. That's the reason for the shortage of the supply at RCM and Canadian dealers.

Generally, the commissioner is allowed to buy half of the mintage.

Just received the new Maple Leaf shaped coin. It is without a doubt one of the best packaged and presented 1oz coins I have had. I bought because of the 'first' Maple Leaf shaped coin effect and had doubts after but am glad now. I have not yet set the pins in the box to stand it up yet but had to comment. I buy alot of RCM product in $20-$150 range and this one stands out.
Heard alot of bashing and thoought I would chime in.
Soft looking coin but detail on lettering and queen is nice.

It is still available at Canada Post and at local post offices.

I don't know if sold out at CA means a lot because they never seem have a huge amount of inventory of new RCM releases. Unlike Gatewest Coins who have hundreds for every new coin release.

Right....usually, at CA the RCM stuff appears for sale later. But unlike Gatewest, they list also NZ Mint and Perth stuff.

I've noticed that. Not bad for 15,000 mintage. Let's see if it holds.

Either way, I look forward to getting mine.
