I've searched about 200,000 nickels and have never found one, add that to your 20K or 400,000 and thats 1 in 600,000 so far..lol..

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but just wanted to ask if your coin also has a die chip on the top of t in cent? I recently found one and it has it, as well as one other member I saw also had the attached 6 with the same t die chip. So unless yours does too either they kept using the damaged die and eventually it chipped at the t too, or this was a problem on at least 2 dies. Cheers!

Interesting error and I'll have to watch for this while searching US nickels as I'm close to Canada and get a few in my rolls. Also, 1-600,000 are pretty low odds.

Irelandos, I don't think that coin had that mark.
UPdate, I really ramped up my searching of nickels over the past 2 years and I have now found 4 of these, and at least the last one I found had that nub on the top of the T just like yours.

I haven't added anything new to my collection since I sold my 1996 attached 6, that also had a die clash.. Kind of sad I sold it, as I found it in $40 of nickels...

Found a attached 6 this morning. It does have the numb on top of the T as well. Very little information on this variety. I've searched through close to $4000 worth of nickels and this is my first as well. Not too much showing on ebay right now regarding value. I saw one sold for just over $60 a few months ago and all the rest are $150 or more right now. They are out there, just don't think in great abundance. And just to poke the horse about ebay sellers and misuse of words, this coin is super rare LQQK. LOL.

Lol well once you do and drive the price up to a million, you let me know. :-)
What's the going market value on there circulated? Is it about $50?

I can't be 100% certain based on the lack of sharpness of the images shown but it appears to be a minor die chip connecting the two elements. Another one described as "Attached" is a minor die chip and can be seen here https://www.coinsandcanada.com/coin...ts-1953-2010For what it is worth here is a story on the 1996 Near & Far Dates. My original stories on these varieties appeared in my September 2001 Coin World, Visiting Varieties column and again in my March/April 2009 CONECA Errorscope column). Another story on Canadian five-cents that may interest some of you is here: http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/...c_DDR_MD.htm
