Hello OcalaFlorida. I've been researching DSLR's on CC for a little while. I've been thinking about what I can buy just for macro use (no interest in any other photography). I looked at some used DSLR's on ebay and wondered what else I must buy to get just the macro shots (very little knowledge of photography) but your posts (and SuperDave's) have helped me understand I do need more than just the body and a lens. The various models like Rebel, EOS, T1, T3, etc... are what I've looked at. I don't think I need anything cutting edge, a used older model should do. I'm on a fixed income so spending $$$ for the sake of getting the "ultimate" is not gong to happen. Only coin pics are in view. Would appreciate your comments on the various Canon models I might consider. I'll list only a few current ones that I've looked at. Some are only selling the body, some have other accessories I may or may not need. (Looks like there are a lot of cheap "for parts only" cameras I need to avoid) If the ebay URL's don't come out, email me as I am not allowed to email members yet. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-R...AOSwL7VWhbhKhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-R...AOSwHaBWjDYKhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Canon-EOS-R...AOSwFqJWhbmd

I just want to thank everyone yet again..I still got a way to go with lighting and focusing but I feel like I can finally show accurately the stuff I want to get across in the images
I have a second camera stand so I might get 2nd camera to leave one as full coin set up and a microscope objective setup camera only around 100 so no brainer as switching back and forth ruins the adjusts I get tune nicely and have to restart.

Good start! The coin looks to be at an angle, so you may need to do more images. There is an out of focus "band" between 1 and 9. Best to focus "high", then gradually drop focus, snapping a shot as each feature comes into focus, until you are at the lowest point and all goes out of focus.
