It is a raised circle and every one that I have seen is just left of the center of the door and very near the top of the door. Still Lookin.

Stoneman, I'm pretty sure lathe lines originate in the center of the die though. These circles are also in different positions which also made me think it's not lathe lines

Hey BlueSolo, I have a lot of 2015 P Nickels that share a similar anomaly in the doorway. I've found 18 of them so far and they match with die chips that are on the "S" in STATES on the reverse. I will share with you one of the photos I posted on here about a week ago. Though the anomaly I've found has a tooth, fin, or icicle like shape. The circular shaped ones look pretty cool.

Just a quick look at one of the new nickels and without a centering jig I think that location is quite close to the center of a nickel. As to the slightly different locations of the anomaly, isn't that the whole premise behind the modern single-squeeze era of doubled dies. That the first kiss of the hub to the die blank can be slightly misaligned, thus , allowing the center of the die cone with unpolished lathe lines to first hit the hub in different spots.

That's fine with me stoneman :D At the very least, if it's determined not to be lathe lines, it can be listed in the "Visually Related Errors" category on the site.
I'll hunt around for any other indication of lathe lines

Jeremy123: That looks like a double die, which would mean that yours is not listed here: http://varietyvista.com/Variety%20M....htm#_2015-PSince yours should read, "Light spread East as an extra central doorway frame" or similar I wish I could find more of these things and other P mint DDs since there are significantly more than D mint, unfortunately I'm West coast so no Philly nickels.. =[ I had to snag this one while I was down in Florida. Fortunately I found the 2007P nickel clash, 98 WAM, both listed 2015 DDOs, 1 rotated die penny, a bunch of shiny BU coins to add to the books of coins found in rolls, etc... I didn't find on my list any 2009 DDR

I found those marks with a crappy loupe that I had but to that device it was a little shimmer. So I kept them and waited until I can get a better device to observe those anomalies. When I bought the usb camera a month later it was fascinating to find that. I'm no expert but others were saying that it wasn't worth attributing so I left it at that. I'm always searching for that WOW factor in a coin. Though to me that little icicle in the doorway was my biggest find so far but I've been off and on searching little by little. Hopefully I will find more. I liked those circle ones you have. I keep going back to the same Bank of America hoping to find more and so far I've found some interesting finds. Today I bought more nickels one roll stood out from the rest with "BUFF" lettering and different color roll. It was a whole roll of Buffalo nickels and I just posted it recently. I know nothing about them.
