Will ANACS accept just two submissions?

Well, I'll know more about the grade when I get them in hand but based on pics I'm looking at VF minimum. I for sure plan on posting several pics over in modern too for authenticity and grade. My motivation is one will end up in my Dansco and the other, I will hopefully sell so I actually am only looking to grade the one.
Customer service is a huge sell for me. I can't handle the elite, holier than thou attitude the collectible world sometimes brings.
Kanga, that is a great question about the minimum quantity. I'll check their website. Sounds like if I am strictly selling I should look at PCGS then. As a non member will I need to find a coin store or some other avenue to submit? I think for now, the next step is to get them in and start with the communities authentication of them. Thanks for all the input so far!
Not to get ahead of myself, but what are everyone's thoughts on each of the TPGs conservation or photo services? ANACS only charges $3.00 more for high quality photos and one of the cents in question has some gunk on the back on a wheat ear. Doesn't look like verdi either, just gunk.

ANACS will take the 2 submissions. you can send one coin or 50. They are running a dollar and cents special now (10 coin minimum)if you want to get the discount. you have to register and get the "ANACS Insider offer".
I like ANACS, everyone has their preferences. I like being able to talk to someone and their customer service is excellent.

I vote for ANACS as well especially since its the first time. Its not going to cost a lot and if they grade well then you can always send the one you are going to sell into PCGS. Their conservation is great. I really like walking in and talking with someone as well. Lastly, the only local shop that will submit to PCGS that I have found in the Denver area is TEBO coin and their in Boulder and they only send stuff in every 3 to 4 months it seems. Who wants to wait that long.

Yeah, for the "one coin" situation you have, ANACS is probably the way to go. The grading fees for the others would probably take a lot of meat off the bone. Plus you have the fun of "walking" it to ANACS. The 1914 D Lincolns are a high demand coin, so the holder won't matter that much. If it's a nice coin, the perspective buyer will see it.

I actually like ANACS although the bulk of my personal submissions have been NGC ( ANA submitter account). But I do find the ANACS staff very approachable at shows. And while people like Christian and Cindi are not graders, they really have a good handle on the process. If you get a little freaked out by the forms, they are always very good at hand-holding!

Quote: the people at ANACS are just wayyyyyyyy more approachable than NGC or PCGS. They may be more approachable but I would call and talk to them first. For security reasons they may not allow walk in submissions.

You are absolutely allowed to drop off coins at ANACS. I have done it multiple times. Very nice and helpful.

They are in hand and I have a few posts running over in Modern and Modern Grading. Considering the verdigris on the one, is ANACS conservation the way to go here or are there heavier hitters in the industry? Or, would they tell me they could conserve it at all? I asked in the other forum but I'll ask here too, as it is, it would probably earn a 'details' grade I suspect. Do you see conservation helping it not earn 'details'?

Okay, I am going to send them both to NCS and then have them graded by NGC. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong here, but according to their website I should be able to just sign up for an AMA membership (silver level) and then I can submit. Is that correct or do I need to do the NGC membership? I know it's only a difference of $20 but having never had a membership to either, what do you all think I should get? Thanks!

Sign up with ANA, get your membership # and then call NGC to have them setup the ANA Submitter Membership. Don't forget - ANA membership includes a bunch of other benefits, including the Magazine and the Library! Free admission to the ANA shows and (if you should find yourself in Colorado Springs) the museum. FYI - probably a typo, but to sign up with the A *M* A, I think you need an MD degree.

Haha, this is actually what I ended up doing! So now, I am an official ANA member (gold membership) and I have sent both coins to NCS first and then they will be graded by NGC. I ended up talking to a super nice lady at NCS/NGC too and she walked me through the submission form box by box over the phone, I just wanted to make sure I got the form right the first time. So now, the wait... and it's killing me already after one day! How do you all do it? EDIT: I actually live in south Denver so making it down to the Springs won't be a problem at all. What kind of cool things are at the museum?

First off welcome to the ANA. There is a display of many of the Harry W. Bass collection, both Gold and Patterns ( https://www.money.org/money-museum/...ss-Gallery).There is a rotating exhibit space - when I was there in December it was an exhibit on shipwreck coins. On the weekends they run the mini-mint which shows all of the aspects of minting coins in mini (I was there on a weekday and totally bummed it wasn't running). Also the library...

One of the major problems with TPG is the shipping. In this case a 'no brainer', take a 10 minute walk to ANACS with them ! Don't have to worry about security in the shipping, either. Is ANACS so much worse than either PCGS or NGC, that the latter two should justify their choice?
