thanks for the input. I'm hoping it's a 64 or higher. I sent it off today to PCGS. hopefully I'll have it back in a month and I'll try and remember to share what it came back as.

Should easily make 64; I'm betting 65. Keep us posted!

Very clean fields I say ms65 it's just a nice coin, but as other mentioned luster could hold it to 64. Still I'd love a coin like this in my collection.

Gold is soft. Hard to get 64+ coins. I think MS64.

OK we only have 1 winner here, BH1964. I got it back yesterday and its a MS-63. The luster was holding it back, probably because it wasn't stored correctly for who knows how many decades. Its still nice, but MS-64 or higher sure would have been better. Thanks again to everyone that posted.

I got lucky dw171. Your coin is a dead ringer for a $5 Lib I bought raw several years ago and sent in to PCGS hoping for a 64. It came back MS63 too.

It would grade MS-64 for sure, and has a stong shot at MS-65. I've been a bit surprised by the number of marks on MS-65 gold, but the grading has seemed to be consistent from the major TPGs for at least the last 20 years.

I said MS64. MS63 perfectly OK with me Gold is soft, and most TPG'ers grade gold conservatively. With the huge value difference between MS63 and MS65, small wonder that TPG'ers are strongly tempted to grade conservatively. If a sale comes up, legal implications could get involved, if they overgrade. Take it it another TPG'er, and I should think it will come back with the current grade. Nice coin, with an attractive luster! Congratulations!
