Why don't you go that extra mile and get Hillary in gold? Just the thought makes me puke! Our Congress is nothing more than a bunch of self promoting, self righteous, spoiled rich kids that are so far out of touch with the American people and reality that it just makes me sick and to think the American voter can not for the sake of themselves, just ONE time, (well actually about 3 elections) put them ALL out of business and put the working man IN!!!

John Wayne's horse might have made a better president than some of our Fearless Leaders... [:0]

I think the only thing worse than a dead president on a coin, is a dead president's live relative, namely, Eunice Kennedy Shriver on the 1995 Special Olympics Commem. Now, I'm not belittling what she has done for Special Olympics, she deserves my admiration for that, but I wasn't happy with the gov. suddenly tossing aside centuries of tradition and putting a living person on a coin. (did they have to pass a new law to do that ?) At least we haven't seen Elvis on a U.S. coin yet, since the mint realizes that he still alive somewhere.

This is the equivilant of putting all of the past prime ministers on coins-
what would you think of a Frazer coin or his wife.
Hers could have her sitting on the coat hanger with her legs in the harbour.

Or perhaps more people would vote for a Slim Dusty token than one of the PMs

I guess you would mean Trigger and Buttermilk. Both would make good images on coins.
Then we have Gene Autry's horse... another one for you to find.

Absolute right Dan, but now I'm waiting for someone to tell me what John Wayne's horse was named. This will be a shocker to some people, wait and see.

And now we know:
Marion Michael Morrison, better know as John Wayne received his nick name when he was 11 years old delivering papers in Glendale, CA. The local firemen named him "Big Duke" and his dog "Little Duke". The most famous and loved horse that he owned was called "Ol'Dollar".
That is the end of the story, and it would make a very nice silver round if you ask me, John and his horse Ol'Dollar".

Well, you have to give me credit for being a lamb walking into the Lions' den.

I continue being a single voice calling out for the Presidential series.

I don't know that it will ever happen, but I remain excited about the possibility.

Forgive me if I'm misguided!

Actually, that doesn't sound like too bad of an idea. So, that would be kinda like the quarters series, 3 or 4 presidents per year on a coin or a different pres on the cent, nickel, dime, or quarter for one year each? Then the reverses could have something pertinent to that president? Personally, it's not the dead presidents on coins syndrome per se that I don't like, it's the SAME OLD likenesses of the SAME OLD presidents stretching back to before I was born syndrome that I'm tired of! That would a very educational experience for people, I think, to collect a coin of each pres.
Daniel (I'm used to being in the lion's den!)
