I have been in coins for years and just started looking at bills. What makes this bill so special? The fact of all the 9's in the serial number? Never thought of looking at those before...

this is what is known as a "radar note" i.e. the serial number reads the same frontwards and backwards
There are several types of fancy serial numbers- repeaters, radars, birthdates, 4+ zeros, etc.

Other things that make it worth while to eat the bologna:
It is a very high serial number.
It is a binary (only has two different numbers-8&9)
The two digits are sequential.
It has 6 of a kind.
Those 6 are together.
That is truly a fantastic find.

Cannot predict how much, but that note would sell for a really nice premium on ebay, even in its current condition. |

ROFL---stuffed french toast!! Your cracking me up  I'm really considering putting this bill up for auction here on the site. I've done the ebay thing before (not selling coins) but I'm not sure if I want to deal with all that again. Another option would be to let someone sell it for me (Forum Mom for instance).....thinking thinking thinking |
