Very nice! I can see it at a 65 and maybe a 66 if you looks good to you in hand.

I'm going with a MS68 myself.

I wish! I can not see 68 and you may not be able to see what I can see from the photo: a beautiful coin re luster with only two marks - a ding on his chin and a significant diagonal gash on his cheek. Otherwise a beautiful coin in my limited experience that might make 65?
The reverse could be a 68 as I can not find a single mark under 8x loop.
Thanks for all of the input. This truly is educational!

PCGS was real generous with the grade on this one, especially with all the field marks.

Wow right on the money! I see a beautiful coin with minor defects.

Looks like a solid 66 but I think the hits you describe will hold it at 65. Its alot tougher than one would think to get a nice clean blue ike just because of the nature of the design. Just nowhere for even the smallest of nicks to hide.

The gash from the upper nostril to the cheek and the ding on the jaw jeep it from 66 IMHO. The luster would have to be over the top

I'm guessing MS65 but a 66 wouldn't surprise me if the luster is really strong. TPG are usually tough on Ike's.

Luster is strong. If really strong I can not say do to my inexperience. I will try and take a photo with a different set up to show the luster.
