I like Wayne Coins and Currency in Wayne PA, pretty good size store. good selection. honest owner. fair deals. less than an hour drive from Doylestown on the turnpike to the blue route.
Also. there is the Trisate coin show every month, near Sesame Place on the Fourth sunday of the month.
I'll be at the West Chester show this Sunday. I think I heard 50 tables of dealers.

Quote: How about the Philadelphia mint ? You would think . . but the truth is the gift shop has a few display cases with complete quarter sets ie.. the state series and ATB series to date available for purchase. Another case with tokens, presidential and various commemorative. But the majority of the items for sale are trinkets and souvenirs. Geared mainly for the general public, not so much for the numismatic customer. Now if they really wanted to serve the collector community there would be bins of error coins where you could look through and cherry pick!

If you don't mind a drive, I can recommend many in the Illinois area.

Thanks all.. I may make a trip to the Wayne store.. Illinios is a bit far.. I have also found that the "Tri-State Coin Show" has monthly shows in Langhorne, which is not too far from where I live..

Quote: I like Wayne Coins and Currency in Wayne PA I've recently had a very good experience there too. Also, I guess we should have started a car pool to the West Chester Coin Show too! I just got back! Good crowd & nice time.

Hey all..
Just wanted to let you know that I finally made a stop off at Wayne Coin Shop and was not disappointed.
Very nice selection, even of some of the more "modern" issues that I collect (Roosevelts, Jeffersons) and owner was very nice and helpful.
Prices seemed to be very competitive...
Used up all my money there.. was going to try to make it to the Trevose Coin show this weekend, but now can't go because Wayne coin shop emptied my "coin allowance"..
Will definitely try to put that into my "rotation" of shops I try to stop by... definitely worth the trip...
Regards,
Michael

I'll be darned. I'm in the area fairly often to go to Microcenter, and never knew they were there.

No - I was there on Thursday late afternoon. I work in Collegeville but live up in Doylestown, so I left work early and hit it on my way home..

Hmmm. More Philadelphia-area people here than I remember, these days.
