I completed an AU - Unc. set of those in 1989.

Very affordable as a TPG mixed 62/63 grade set with only the '11-D in a low AU/EF holder. Have done it myself.

Another question...Why did the 11-D have such a low mintage compared to the others in this series?

I looked and couldn't find the answer why the mintage was so low. Very interesting.

This was the first year that the fledgling Denver mint was directed to produce the new Lincoln Cent, which apparently held priority over the quarter eagle.

I have 3 coins left for my 63-64 set. I got the 11-D in AU-58 and it matches the others well

This will sound strange. I just checked and it seems that I have 8 of them, but it is not a series that I am collecting. Maybe I should. However, upon further checking, 5 of the 8 are in a bracelet......

I started and completed the series within a year, having sold all but one as of early last month. The only one I retained was this nice MS-63 CAC 1914-D and a dupe 1915 in MS-61/CAC. The collection ranged from AU-55/CAC (1911-D) to MS-64/CAC. Finding nice ones is quite possible, with a little patience...

I love this series and may begin an AU/MS set one day in the future. Right now, I am focusing on Peace dollars. Good luck!
