Look at Heritage auction 1216 Lot 4031. This coin (as does every FS-1301 on Heritage) shows a die crack from the rim through the T in TRUST continuing on to the top leaf right. Your coin does not have this crack, so in order for your coin to be FS-1301 it must be an earlier die stage than the Heritage coin.

Your coin shows a die crack from the bottom leaf left (the crack we've discussed before with the dogleg). The Heritage coin does not show that die crack. Hence, your coin must be a later die stage than the Heritage coin.

Since your coin cannot simultaneously be an earlier and later die stage than the Heritage coin, it must be a different die.

This is an example of what I previously called "non-matching die cracks."

There is a CCF Support and Testing area for that. It doesn't need to be in an actual topic.

Many "copyrighted" images can be used for educational purposes and that is the case here. While I appreciate your attribution, don't get hung up on it.

It is the interwebs we're speaking of after all.

Edit: shieldnickels.net offers this disclaimer:

I don't think Spindel is going to be suing anyone anytime soon. :-)

I used the insert link button to insert a link to Google, but it links to Coin Community instead.

Works fine for me. Don't know what you're talking about.

@spruett001:

Fair educational use or not, if you use someone's images it's only polite to provide a credit.

The disclaimer you read on Spindel's website should alert you that he considers copyright important and that if one isn't going to bother asking his permission one should at least give him credit. Since you brought up lawsuit, you should be aware that Spindel's disclaimer informs you that he may file a lawsuit for unauthorized use.

I am new here and was unaware of the CCF Support and Testing area. Thanks for informing me.

@bobby131313:

Good to know it works for you. It does not work for me. Possibly a browser difference.

No reason to add a snide comment that you don't know what I'm talking about.

From a tech point of view, I don't see why it doesn't work for you, ItchyN. Maybe you made contact with your touchpad at two points and caused your cursor to skip to the ccf banner? If you hover you mouse cursor over the link you posted, it will preview the destination link in the lower left corner of your browser window. I did this yesterday when you first posted, and again just now. It shows a preview of www.google.com both times.

Nothing snide about it, it simply means that since the link works perfectly for me that I can't possibly know what you're talking about.

It's a little buried but, if anyone wishes to cross-reference shieldnickels.net or use images/material from the site here, read this first:

Edit: I'm not poking fun but, it seems I broke the first rule by linking to a subsidiary page.

CJ, thanks for the post and pics! According to the experts, they had to come from different dies, because their are mutually exclusive die cracks. I get the concept and can't argue with it, but then the odds of 2 different dies producing a variety that similar have to be astronomical. I'm not sure what to think....

It's a browser incompatibility. Even your link to google above does not work for me on Firefox. Works fine on IE, though. Something about the coding of the redirect that Firefox doesn't like.

I started a new thread in the test section as this doesn't belong here.

I am using Firefox and it is fine for me.

I just upgraded to version 53 this morning and it is still fine.

What version are you using?

Same for me, except mine auto updated yesterday afternoon. I didn't have any issues with it before hand either though.
