2017 design is great. I think its a steal especially because its proof and its low mintages. I had my eye on it for a week now...

Yea I was looking around ebay and these just popped up.

I was a bit confused as everyone says pre-order tho I did call GC and they said they were in stock.

Lots of other places have sold out tho, shoot I like these type gold coins, I saw they even have 2016's the first year of issue, which might imply people arent interested in these.

In any case, the 2017 design just struck me as being very cool, well made, never had anything from South K and the presentation is great too.

Who cares too if they are just medals, these look fabulous!

Well what happened was this-

I THOUGHT this coin (medal but whatever, its a coin to me lol)was only available in 1/4 oz.

So I am like.... mehhhh, I am always a buyer and fan of 1/2 and 1 oz. I rarely buy 1/10 or 1/4, I prefer bigger gold coins and only get the smaller sizes when thats the only way to get it.

When I discovered this coin, all I kept finding was 1/4 oz. I narrowed my search down to the series and found out they came in 1/2 and 1 oz. So I was very excited.. but I was like "what if I get it and it doesn't look as great in hand."

So I said, I am going to stick to half ounce, that should be a nice size... well I dont know what I was thinking because now that I have it in hand, this medal, coin, is REALLY AWESOME.

My Somalia gold elephants are still my favorites, but these Korean tigers are second place officially now. Now I am wishing I had bought the 1 oz.

Guess I am going to get the 1 ounce now lol

Its really great craftsmanship on this coin, the tiger on the coin is done perfectly, its all raised, in different angles it looks like its coming to life. The detail on the tiger is GORGEOUS!!

you really should get one, get the 1 ounce, this coin totally rocks!

Pretty cool looking coin. I'd probably get one if they made a silver version.

@machine20

Yea I agree, its not as exciting.

Its not bad but it looks not as cool as the 2017, at first glance it looks like a cat LOL

I will say that coin has a lot of detail... still with low mintage, first in a series and let me tell you, KOMSCO knows how to make coins (medal to be technical in this case)

I hope they keep making this series...
