Well I really appreciate the heads up on the BU. They had 7 this morning when I ordered mine, and they were gone within an hour.
As far as the proof-like goes, I have seen some dealers in Europe got them yesterday. Going for about a grand.

I notice APMEX has them in stock again, how much of an increase did APMEX mark these up for? A little more and you can get the PL kilo version at these prices no? 200 tho, is one of the lowest numbers, if not lowest for the kilo BU Libertads isn't it?

I think I got mine for $685. They went up to $800 later same day.

Wow $685 is a great price. I paid $900 for mine and they have them for $944 now. Oh well that's what I get for not noticing them sooner. Still, I think I'll do alright just based on the extremely low mintage. I sure hope that wasn't a typo from the mint and they actually did 2000 like the last two years.
yup, yes it is the lowest mintage by far. Next lowest mintage I see was 2000 for the last two years. Earlier then that they minted as many as 6000.
I've only seen the proof-like on a couple european dealer's sites so far, and they were running about $1,000 to $1,100. Mintage of 500 compared to 800 the previous year. They are stunning looking though.

I just noticed APMEX has updated the product description for the kilo with the 200 mintage, specifically saying its 1/10th mintage of last year. That wasn't in the description yesterday. :) They are definitely gonna squeeze as much as they can now.

You are right, they have put the mintage there now. I believe this is not only the lowest mintage of any kilo coin, but the 2nd lowest mintage of any Libertad, regular or proof, of any size. Only the 1999 5 oz Proof with a mintage of 100 is lower. By the way, I need one of those if anyone has an extra one they were looking to unload.

Hey guys! Man that is some mark up.. but that is typical of APMEX and most dealers LOL.... I will be keeping an eye out... I do like it. The kilo looks GREAT CrazyGlue! great job on adding it to your collection. I know the Kilos sometimes get a knock because of their size but after buying my first one, a somalian elephant kilo,,, man they are awesome lol I am thinking, seeing how high the BU kilos are compared to the PL, almost feels like you can get a PL seeing they are in the 1,000 range now..

Can you put your hand over the coin so I can get an accurate gauge on the size of that thing? Thanks!!

holding a kilo coin in your hand is, I would say, akin to holding a brick in your hand, its heavy AND big.... hold it with 2 fingers and I can guarantee you will immediately tell thats its very heavy and B I G... unlike any coin you have EVER owned....

That is huge, I guess it has a chance to really appreciate in value with only 200 worldwide.
I just don't see how that is considered a coin.lol

I thought most collectors tend to stay away from having too many kilo coins...
