You've been given excellent advice. Save a few more bucks for a nicer example.

As I stated in my earlier post, a higher grade Liberty Head nickel shouldn't cost too much more. Personally, I'd save my money for one in high AU at the lowest - under $100. For just over $100 you can get a low MS example, and even a Proof for about $200 - $400.

The 12-D is not a key or semi-key coin . There are many out there on e-Bay that are in better condition and not that expensive .

Completely agree with the solid advice given above. Quote: 's in rough shape, can't post pics Why are we having this discussion? Move on and find a better example if your collecting budget allows.

I like it, it is rough though. You don't think it's at least good?

$4 w/ free shipping? I would also add a few dollars to it and get a much nicer one.

It's a piece of junk. Do not buy it. Pay at least $10 - $50 and get one in better condition.

T-BOP indeed it is the very nice copper rusty color that I found appealing about it.

T-BOP must be joking, because you should run from this deal. This coin is very bad.

I understand fully the bad detail and condition of this coin. Yet I honestly find it appealing. For what's considered basically pocket change, I'm happy with it. Even thus, knowing it will hold no real value to any collector.
