I think the German adjusted is close, if you have a mint 2017 .50 piece that is what I used.

Not a fan of taking pictures in 2x2s but all in all getting better. Keep practising with the lighting and you'll have it.
Penny has a little to much light going on....try a slightly different angle or back the light up a bit

What do you have your white balance setting on in live view? I use Tungsten.

I have a question for those of you taking photos through a 45 degree plain glass. I built a setup that I found on youtube where light comes from the rear shining through a piece of frosted glass. The photo is taken shooting downward through a piece of plain glass. My problem is I get a lot of reflection off of the 45 degree glass. Have either of you run into this problem? Unfortunately I'm using a cell phone or a point and shoot camera so my results are not great to start with.

You need something very black behind the glass (opposite the incoming light), to minimize reflections off the back side of the glass. I use some sort of flocking material from Thor Labs (I think).

hello mike ok, went an purchased a protactor. the glass is set at 38 degrees. the light is positioned below the mount that the coin is placed on. the lamp is angled at 45 degrees up towards the glass. the glass is the same as. the one I sent you. this piece still has the anti reflective coating on it. I am shooting through the coating. it is on the same side as the camera. see I called the engineer in germany. he explained that is the reason for the true view. now I understand this glass. hope this helps mike have a great one
