I was interested in this coin because I like to buy coins that commemorate something special about a particular year...This is the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI, so I ordered the armistice coin.
I wanted a Royal Wedding one to commemorate it occurring in 2018...but that is one ugly coin. There is something wrong with their eyes and Harry in general doesn't look right.
I think I will pass on this one.

As is typical with Royals coins, this one will likely tank so waiting is a good strategy if you want to get it at a discount. Not for me though. One note, Meghan in particular is taking some hits in the media (regular and social) for the demonic look in the artists drawing of the coin. The actual coin from the Mint's video is much less harsh IMO. Here is a comparison (drawing on the right).

@CC Ottawa Thank you for posting but it still does not look like MM. For a couple who wanted privacy and demanded that of the press, they sure are courting the media every day now. Sheesh! Hopefully once they marry, all of this attention will go away like Prince Andrew and other siblings. The Royal Mint has issued 3 coins for this 6th in line to the throne Harry!! Come on......put our Canadian Icons in the media!!!

What could I say? Each coin (almost) to it's collectors. Will be always thematic collectors and collectors who will buy any coin that projected to hold value. For me it is ordinary Royal coin, nothing extra-special. Just the shades on the picture to sharp (on the coin everything softer) If not RCM, whould you know that these people married?

I seem to remember some similar backlash to Will & Kate - back when they got married in 2011. Some liked the coin, others ...well, not so much.

I'm not a buyer, but I don't think the RCM did all that bad with the coin vs. the photograph upon which it was based. Here's a comparison using CC-Ottawa's images:

By the way, that dress she is wearing in the engagement photo, cost $75,000.00 American!! (So much for humility) "sarcasm"
The updates on this upcoming wedding are everywhere you turn and I cannot wait til this wedding is done and over with as they fall into oblivion because it will be the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges children that will be taking centre stage.

@Silveroid
I do my grocery shopping and while awaiting to check out, all the gossip magazines have Meghan Markle on the front cover with some exaggerated story about her family or her exes. Maybe, if the check out lines moved faster, I would not have known about it myself. LOL
Note to myself: Need to stop reading gossip magazines while waiting to check out. LOL

My 100th Anniversary of the WWI Armistice coin arrived today. I really like it, especially how the gold plated 11 is based on the Vimy Ridge memorial. A great way to learn and teach some history.
My Hearts Aglow coin hasn't shipped yet.

Btw, the first second I saw the picture on the listing of the ebay pre-sale, I immediately referred the '11' to the WTC towers on 09.11 ....imaginably, I still see the towers.

I find it very strange that no reviews are able to be posted on the Harry & Meghan engagement coin on the RCM site.. LOL I have never seen that before!! Me thinks the BRF demanded this.

My Armistice SD and SE Proof Set arrived today. Here's an image of the colourized SD from the proof set. It's OK, but I still would have preferred a fully-engraved SD w/o colour.
