World coins are the cheapest way to start a collection. You could go to a coin shop and buy them for 10 for $2. They never will be worth more, but you can't loose a lot of money on them because you don't put a lot of money into them.

The first way I started was collecting one coin from every country I could find. It's fun and easy to get to 100 countries coins, without spending a lot of money. Some very pretty coins.

Then I started collecting each seperate demonination from a dozen or so countries.

Finally I started collecting each date of a particiular group of coins.

You will learn alot about coins along the way.

When good times hit, I bought the more expensive coins. But when there are hard times you can still enjoy collecting cheap world coins.

Just reading your posts in regard to this matter. Purchase was made on a Friday...right (?)

First queston in my mind is "How was payment made ? Cash through the post or by direct debit (internet banking) ?

If it is the former, you have to make allowance for the cash to be received by the seller. If it is the later, EFT's on a Friday is not cleared into the seller's account until the following Monday evening if you both use the same Bank or on a Tuesday if you both use different Banks.

Assuming the funds were cleared on Tuesday, you then have to consider posting times of sellers, most sellers I know of ahve set times each day for posting. There is no seller that I know off that will run to the PO each time funds are cleared into their accounts.

Given all of the above, lets assume further the coins were posted on a Wednesday afternoon....it will then depend how far away you are from the seller. It is a fact that mail from the Eastern States take a longgggggg time getting over to WA. I have had coins posted on the same day from Sydney and the US and have on a few occassions where the coins from the US arrive here before the ones from Eastern States...figure that out.

Just be patient matey.....

P/S....if you are concerned, just ring the seller.

1937 crown and a couple of 1966 50c, not worth a lot, but its a start, when I have the funds I'm going to get a 1938 crown.
Until then i'll stick with what I got, might stalk the post office though as they have some silver coins going.
