I see wear on the eyebrow, hair and leaf blades. I think 55-58

Old abrasive wiping, but still market except able.

Personally: AU-53

NGC grade guess: AU-58

Wow! What a difference between the first set of pictures and the later ones.

Wear wise the coin appears the same grade, but surface condition appears far superior in the first set of pics.

Someone could guess a grade as high as an ms60 to ms62 for the first set of pics, whereas no one would ever give this grade for the later (more accurate) set of pictures.

This is actually a good example of how a picture, depending on the light source and angle of the lighting, can optically alter the condition of the coin.

I would personally although I own this coin be more realistic and give AU 53 tops.

It's NGC grading at its finest lol. Luckily the parties involved were bidding according the coin and not the slab!

Today's market reality dictates very little to no price difference between a 50, 53, 55 or a 58 coin. Irrelevant of the TPG. No different than EF grades or VF grades. The price game starts at MS and even then, other than MS65 and up, you can probably group a few below. Of course when you get to a 1921 5 cent piece and alike, it might matter.

CoinHunter, your right 100%. Unless it is a sought after coin like the one you mentioned (1921 5 cent )
Price difference in MS grades varies drastically from the circulation ones!

Thanks for your input!

BTW, I love your coins on the bay!!
