To CCF , we need photos of some of the coins in question to determine the extent of devaluation . But even if they have a couple of black spots ,yes it will take away some of the value .

It highly depends on the specific coin. In general, spots will reduced the coins grade which, of course, reduces the value.

hi, I am new here but what I have learned is that condition is crucial to the value of the coin. Unless it is a very rare coin.

Correct. But again, what coin are you referring too? A 1979 Lincoln Cent isn't worth anything but face. A uncirculated 1909S VDB is 2k or up. It depends on the age, mintage, and survival rate of the coin. As well as market desirability.

When asking about a coin it usually helps with a photo of what your talking about.

And even then it is still important. A very rare coin in better condition is still going to be worth more than the same coin in lesser condition.

True, then false. Condition is EVERYTHING for ALL coins at all times.

Here is an example of a very nice 1999(RD)-D Penny with the black spots. Does this bring the value down? And the Cuds also?

Considering it is only worth about face value they can't bring it down too much.
