I like the colors but not the surfaces for that grade. I agree that if you like it, it can be fun to slab even if its not of high value because you like it. I might do it too. But I guess aside from the color I'm seeing some finger prints and darks spots and lots of scratches. I don't think you did badly getting a 63 out of it though. Just my humble opinion.

I can only hope the OP has learned a lesson - PCGS makes a fortune grading the staggeringly common 1921 Morgan. They win, you lose, even in a 65 grade. Edited by Coinfrog

Normally I'd NEVER grade a 1921, but the fact that it is this wildly toned as a 1921-D is super unusual. It's my understanding the storage process was slightly different post-1904, preventing toning on pretty much the entire year.
I also had a 1922 Peace from the same bag graded AU58, but the toning was so out-of-this-world that I just sold it for $190. Turned out to be well worth it!

This is very true. You certainly don't see '21-D's like this every day. Edit to add- I sure would have liked to have seen what the true-view images would have looked like... Edited by dave700x

Was wondering what is the cost to get a coin like this graded from the experts? Where would one find this type info?

Beautiful! Answering old555, figure around sixty dollars plus your shipping it to the grader this does not factor in the cost of the coin). Further, PCGS and NGC require a membership first, where ANACS does not. These are the top three out there.
