Sniping ebay auctions. I always count the shipping into my price. Like if I want the coin for 15 and the shipping is 3 dollars. I wont bid above 12ish. Edited by 1337

That, and "coin auctions" for me.......the coin auctions are "fun" to boot !....(just gotta watch you don't get carried away by the "bidding fever" !....  ) |

I usually stick to the coin shows, but when my boy gets old enough I might start doing the garage/yard sale tour again. I am hoping his cuteness will score me some nice finds; but worst case I get to spend some "man" time with him! |

Where is the best place to find coin shows? I have searched around on google, but not much luck. I live outside of Philadelphia.

Another good way to collect seems to be just to ask everyone to send you their coins for safekeeping........you could try that too !... |

I would ask older relatives. They may have some but don't want anyone in the family to know about them, so when inheritance comes there are no hurt feelings. I told my mom I started collecting and that I had these cases/2x2's to protect what I found. The next thing I know she's opening up a box that had silver half dollars in it. She wanted me to have them because "You will take care of them." Go figure.  |
