Thank you one and all, your expressions are deeply appreciated!

After our loss this past week of our old friend Steve Kaden, it kind of takes the shine off of every thing else that happens. Still, having a hard time of this one. Guess Cisco was right when he said "the good ones die young", and I'm living proof of that statement.

Sure can't complain about any thing else. My wife and our friend who I usually retain to buy coins I want, surprised me with the last two Buffalo nickels that I needed in the set I'm now finishing up. All states are represented along with seven foreign countries as to where the coins were at when purchased. A real gathering of the heard, so to speak. All ranging in toning from light yellow to a medium honey gold color. I'm satisfied, and can put this one away for good.

This afternoon at the dinner that family has planned, I will have my daughter draw straws as to which one of the great grandchildren get this set. I figure it will be a good down payment on their education in another 10 to 15 years.

Now I may just go out and feed that old black tom cat I think Steve sent me, and then go fishing and relax for awhile. Thanks again!

Hey Grandpa! Don't forget to put my name in the cap for the drawing!!! Kind of strange that you mention the cat as I (we) have one that came out of nowhere and its been one of the best darned cats I have ever seen. I raise Bobwhite quail so cats tend to be a problem but this one pays no attention to them as he goes about his duty of killing moles! He makes it look so darn easy so I keep him well fed and healthy so he can continue his yard work!!! Seems to me our old Buddy Catman may have had more than one cat to send out? Have a great day and always take the time to share a bit with us folks here at CC!

Happy birthday Old Dan. I think it's important that we continue to recognize the happy occasion of your birthday even as we mourn Steve's passing. Good occasions can bring us as close as the tragic ones. Steve's passing has made it very clear to me that we need to appreciate each other while we have the time to do so. Please have a wonderful day and celebrate the life you have been given. I look forward to you sharing your views and insights with us for a very long time to come!

Well, the party finally wrapped up and everyone has gone home. The drawing was a success and my one and only great-granddaughter was the one who took the Bufflo's home. Everyone seems happy except the boys. I told them I would make them leather belts with their name on the back, and that seemed to satisfy them.
So all in all, it was a great day after all, and I will now look around and see what to start next, if anything. I'll let you know if its anything earth shaking.
Thanks again for the well wishes and I hope you all have a great day today and a better one tomorrow.

Hey OldDan I thought you might get a kick out this. I finally found a copy of the Grizzly King (1925 edition), got it in the mail this afternoon. Inside the book someone wrote: W.A Cooper 3/12/26

Greeting Bill, I knew you were a reading machine, but I didn't know you liked such books as the "Grizzly King". The 1925 edition must have been the one published by Doubleday. If you like this book, you would probably like his other book "Kazan". All about a sled dog and it's travels and adventures. They may have made a picture about is one.

Have a good one and keep the old flag flying.

Yes, it's Doubleday Page & Company for P.F. Collier & Son.

I think it was Doug who mention something about Abe books on the WINS list and since then I've been finding all kinds of books that I've been wanting to get and never could.

Internet can be an amazing tool sometimes.
