I think he is saying that silver has not been this low in almost two and a half years; and with some investment techniques that is ages ago. Anyone that "stocked up" then and got out around the peak is pretty happy now. One has a good chance of repeating that success; buy now and wait two years!

I don't make any claims there--that graph has enough to say. Anyone can pick their own trendline*...whichever suits you best.

*not investment advice--and I have no stake in metals markets.

Wow this is the second thread I have read where people are being touchy touchy on what other people say. Maybe we all need a nap. I will go on and tell you I am very excited about low prices of metals. If you sell on ebay you should be smiling people are getting close to 20 dollars an ounce over there

On the flip side to Pickens, his critics makes some points too.
I don't believe he's trying to become a billionaire from a millionaire....

Especially since he's already worth $2.7 billion.

I am watching the dollar rise as metals fall. Anyone have an opinion on this?

I think you discovered the definitioo.

If the dollar will buy more gold the dollar has risen (as expressed in a lower gold price). If the gold price is higher, the dollar has fallen.

Flee dollars now, while they are temporarily a little stronger.
Dump your cash for hard assets.

I'm not saying everyone has nothing to smile for. I'm just saying if you own silver that you payed many bucks for than you shouldn't be boasting about it when prices are struggling to maintain 12, 11 and even 10 dollars! Its great if you're in it for long term but these prices are obviously not good for silver holders, so don't be arrogant about it. -PP

Any drops you see in precious metals right now are probably due to stock brokers having to sell precious metal futures (aka 'paper' ownership of precious metals) to pay their margin calls in this crashing market.

The result is that 'spot' prices now have little or no relevance to the physical precious metals market (just check ebay!).

These guys aren't just throwing out the baby with the bathwater, they're
selling the baby to pay for the bathwater they're throwing out!
