I can't believe they removed a fact about history.. just the same as they did to this new generation's American history books!! History can not be rewritten.. it is what it is & was what it was

I can understand the thrill of the find. I recently received a box of my "mom's sewing junk" from my dad, but it turned out to be a mislabeled treasure trove of unknown Paternal family heirlooms. Along with other great stuff, in a secret pocket of an old leather pouch, I found a City of Omaha obsolete currency note, and a counterfeit Confederate $100. They held onto these when they moved from Nebraska to California in 1886. My great-great-grandfather was a little too young to fight in the Civil War, but 5 older brothers did, 4 for the Union and 1 for the Confederate, with two passing away in the war. After the War he farmed in Nebraska for a couple decades, then onto California.

I'm not an expert on Confederate issues. I know enough to know that counterfeits are rampant. It's not always very expensive, but be wary you know who printed your piece. A lot of the counterfeits are contemporary to the 19th century, and are an interesting part of the history of the Confederate economy... Just not actual Confederate printed. Don't get burned financially hoping its something its not.
