Hey Dave, I don't blame ya! It's just one of those that you're not likely to see a second one anytime soon so keep one when you've got one. An exciting find and just so nice to see another one get found.

I wonder if the scarcity of this one is due to the fact that the doubling was simply polished off the die in later die states

Likely true. I've seen quite a number of coins that looked like later die states of this one but just not enough left in that general area to tell much of anything for sure.

Great spot, Dave, yeah, the mint marks are totally in different locations. Seems like maybe they're aware though, since neither Wexler nor Coppercoins has cross-referenced the other in their listing

The most interesting thing about his post Bobby Is that I posted a LINK in my post taking everyone to the listing. So I am lost on his comment. Kinda Funny but Kinda sad. All's I can say is sall66 >>> Please study so you can tell the difference between a real DDO and MD. or you just might be tossing back a real deal coin and losing out on a nice find Good Luck.

@DavesErrors I feel this could be said about some people with a lot more experience than Sal... I see a lot of posts on here that miss genuine die varieties (usually on the more minor to moderate side). Sadly, while reading old posts on this forum, I've come across several examples where the person was told to toss the coin (and probably did) at the advice of users on here. It's understandable in some ways, since we see about 100 posts asking if a parking lot coin is a DDO for every real example that gets posted, but I do wish people would be a little bit more attentive when posting such a confident response.

Amazing find! A lot of these underrated nice doubled dies are quite rare, like this one. Congrats!
