Good thing I have the double LP on vinyl, CD, and in my MP3 library. I forgot how much I liked that album. I will have to listen to Liverpool and Reload! next.

Ah, Pete Burns' band, later Dead or Alive. Unfortunately the former now. RIP.

Deaf School were ok but surely The Bunnymen were the best, and longest lasting, band to come out of that late 1970s Liverpool scene? The Nightmares In Wax single Black Leather is now considered a classic of the time. That, and a demo version of the same, can be heard on YouTube.

I'm beginning to suspect you're a Liverpudlian. Here's a trivia test for you: The Glass Torpedoes EP was Smash Hits magazine single of the week mid 1979. What's the link between that and the 1980 Nightmares In Wax EP?

I am enjoying this diversion, but I hope we have not scared Brisknight away.

There have been all these posts and Brisknight hasn't been back yet. I'm sure if there are any photos he/she would like us to view they'll appear in due course.

Ah, Saxon, a quick check of your profile tells me you are indeed Liverpool. Whereabouts?

Saxon, there have been posts added to this thread since my last one so, unless you have read back beyond them, you may have missed it. So, it's worth doing again. You're Liverpool. Whereabouts?

Quote: "If they were subscribed, there would be plenty of emails now to lure them back. " Well not necessarily. I get no email notifications at all, and I have just checked into why. It seems the default is NOT to subscribe to threads I create or contribute to, hence no emails. I can't find anywhere to change this default. If the new member did not consciously Subscribe to the thread, he or she will hear no more. I suspect that is why so many first time posters are never heard from again - they do not know anyone has replied to them.

You're quite correct Paddy. There are a number of ways in which this site is clunky and in need of an overhaul.

Correct, subscription to topics is OPT-IN, you have to actively subscribe to ones that you want notification. There is no automatic setting. This was done on purpose. The number of posts we have would overwhelm our email service because every topic would be generating multiple emails every time a reply is made. This is a forum, not a list-server!
