It's too bad corrosion just eats up these old indians. I hate to see a nice AU/MS example with corrosion.

Hmmm, you do have a point about conservation, not sure if PCGS has a service like that, but NGC definitely does.

Let me state with conviction that this coin is beyond conservation, and will never be worth more than a dollar no matter how much you spend on it.

You're right it won't be not in anybody other than me but understand when I found her she was green and she was beautiful she caught my eye now should I let her die or preserve her.

Just leave it alone. It will not likely deteriorate further in your lifetime.

I'd look at this as a good learning experience on "conserving" yourself, if your dead set on "improving" this one. Search the forum for methods used and give it a go. As mentioned, it's not worth having professionally conserved. That and I highly doubt any of the conservation services with any of the big TPG's would even accept this one for conservation. They'd likely turn it away as a candidate.

@hlw1976 - Here's an offer. Before you spend conservation fees on this, send me a single first class stamp for postage and I will send you a problem-free original 1896 cent in G-VG for no charge that you can use in comparison. This coin will be worth more than yours, I guarantee. PM me if interested. Sincere offer.
