The price I quoted for the 1840-O was numismedia, and I checked on heritage (it was a drapery variety), and corroded/cleaned XF went for over $400. So that's why I was saying that. The no drapery is not valuable, but it seems that the drapery is actually quite valuable. Were you talking about sending back the Half Dime (its actually an 1832), or the 1838-O dime? If it's the 1832, yeah, I'd be surprised too, but it looked pretty good : ( I'll definitely post pictures of that when I get it.

The 1853 was a slam dunk, well below market. The 1890 is AU50 at worst, probably better, and definitely worth the risk at the price.

I thought so with the 1853 I just hope the obverse doesn't look dull in person, or something.

So are you a third-shifter, like me?

You mean someone who buys stuff late at night? I suppose so.

I actually work third shift, and keep overnight hours on my days off. I'd noticed you've been on almost all night; that's why I asked.

Yeah, normally I'm a night owl already, but because of this surgery and all the stuff that came with it, my sleep has been weird. Getting back to normal though.

I don't know if it's just the mylar/so-so photo, but that 1832 half-dime just doesn't look right to me... Granted there were a lot of varieties, but did one of them really have that bulbous nose?

The Barber halves were very nice, worth nearly double what I paid I'd say.

Need some help with a few of these... The arrows rays quarter is very nice. The rare dime is dark but relatively pretty. The 1866-S no motto half looks brighter than it should be. It doesn't appear abrasively cleaned, probably dipped. Still worth the $150, or send it back? The 1832 Half Dime is definitely PQ on the reverse, obverse I'm not entirely sure about. Might have been lightly wiped, but again, I'm not sure. Need some help deciding whether to keep it. The 1890 dime looks pretty good overall, but I will post pics anyway. They're coming tomorrow.

I wouldn't sleep if I paid that much for a coin on the Bay.

Here's the 1866S half. The 'hairlines' I'm pretty sure are sliding marks, because the coin does not appear abrasively cleaned upon close examination, but its definitely been dipped in SOMETHING. Here's the 1832 1/2 dime. The obverse has some darker areas, the reverse is completely pristine. Grade? Send it back? Here's the 1898-S dime. I'm rubbish at attributing varieties, but SOMETHING looks different about the date. Can anyone confirm that this is the breen 3513? The 1890 dime is the last photo. Unfortunately it DOES have a small rim ding, but looks pretty original. I'd call it AU-55+ but would anyone care to give it a grade?
