OK nice suppositions,

To see if it is material default or it is PM (post mint) you has to see on at least x500. Better it is x1000. Like this you can see well the fracture molecular disparity.

In general on mint process's the zinc crake on deform shape (crenels) and will be directional with rolling. Your coin show from 35 to 65 deg. missing parts. on the surface the missing part seem to be a place eat by something (ex acid, etc.)

Base on your photos my opinion it is not a mint default but not definitive..

I will not send to certify.

You will pay for certify what? Look at the Verdi's coin has, then the circulation deterioration. And to attribute an error or variant you has to pay more.. you has 1 penny worth 1 penny.

Take it to your local coin shop, or visit some coin shows and nicely asks around.

Its okay to be skeptic.

As stated, UTube is not a good resource. Stick around here for an honest coin education.

This is simply post mint damage. It did not leave the mint looking like that.

It's value is 1 cent, IF you can convivence someone to take it.

to the CCF!

Silviosi thanks bud and yeah I originally thought maybe was just damaged and I appreciate all you guys as input I was just kind of wondering if there was some type of acid damage wouldn't more of the coin be affected then just those very particular areas and trust me I respect and listening to everybody's opinion I definitely don't want to waste my time but if it was the case where it was a defect I believe this could be high valued being that there was only 2.5m made.

I'm going to try to add one more picture and then I'm done with this but the picture showing the 'I" of "in" or the 't' of trust where it kind of goes down that groove where it's broken

"Broken" is a nice keyword there, because the coin is "damaged".
